At The Good Heating Co. we don’t think anyone in our community should have to face going hungry.
The good people at The Leeds South and East Foodbank are working hard to combat poverty and hunger across our community, we are very proud to support them and local people who are in crisis. As a company you can trust us in doing good, not just by the services we provide but by also doing good for our community, and living up to the “good” in our name.
This year has been a particularly hard time for many people and families we serve, sadly due to the Covid-19 pandemic, causing job losses, health problems, and financial uncertainty affecting peoples standard of living and wellbeing. At this time of year more than ever before, for many people Christmas especially may not quite be the same as what we are all used to, but we believe as a community helping each other we are stronger and better. A little kindness and generosity can go a long way to improving someone’s life and creating happiness.
About the Leeds And South Foodbank;
The Foodbank started in October 2013, with one Distribution Centre, which has now increased to 11 Distribution Centres within Leeds. In the year 2015 the Foodbank provided food for 5262 people, consisting of 3069 adults and 2193 children. Various reasons caused these people to need help from the Foodbank, such as benefit changes and delays, delayed wages, low income, and various other situations. They work with a number of companies like The Good Heating Co. and organisations, who donate food, money, and also provide volunteers. The Foodbank is a project founded by local churches and community groups, working together towards stopping hunger in our local area. Stay safe and take care
